The Coherence Studio
The Sword of Light, a hand-carved oak and crystal Coherence Artifact

Handcrafted by Toby Jacobs

Coherence Artifacts

Unique objects for consciousness, coherence and energy work.

The objects

Nature brought into relationship

I make these objects slowly, individually and by feeling rather than by a fixed design.

Each begins with something found in nature — often wood with its own history. A natural crystal, hidden elements and the geometry of the final construction develop around it. I call them Coherence Artifacts.

Some are amulets, made to be worn close to the body. Others are held as instruments for meditation, contemplation, energy work or healing practice. They are not simply decorative objects, but personal tools through which attention and intention can be focused.

The making

No standard recipe. No two pieces alike.

01

Find

It begins with a piece of wood found in nature — sometimes in a mountain forest, beneath an old tree or in a place with a particular character. I may not know what it will become, only that it should be kept.

02

Feel

I spend time with the material. Its grain, balance and natural form begin to suggest the object within it. The process comes through observation and feeling rather than a fixed design.

03

Connect

A natural crystal is selected for the relationship it forms with the wood. Other elements connected with the story of the piece may be placed between them, partly or completely hidden.

04

Balance

The materials are joined through carving, thread, leaf, copper or solid gold wire. I keep working until the geometry, weight and character of the whole object feel balanced and complete.

Detail of the Sword of Light showing tanzanite, watermelon tourmaline, diamond, oak and gold wire

A defining work · Bespoke commission

The Sword of Light

A hand-carved oak construction bringing together gem-quality natural formations of tanzanite and watermelon tourmaline, a ten-carat rough diamond cube, solid gold wire and secret elements held within the piece.

Created as a bespoke commission many years ago, it is not available. It remains one of the clearest examples of this work: rare materials are important, but the artifact is defined by the balanced relationship between them.

Private collection

The geometry

Coherence is in the relationship

The value of an artifact is not simply in its materials. It is in the relationship between the shape of the wood, the crystal formation, the hidden elements and the geometry that connects them.

I also think of these as Aetheric Coherence Tools: physical structures through which consciousness and Aether may be focused. You may understand that energetically, symbolically, psychologically or spiritually. What matters most is your experience of the object.

Coherence Artifacts are not medical devices and are not intended to diagnose, treat or replace medical care.

Available artifacts

Each piece has its own materials, history and construction. The collection will grow as new artifacts are completed.

The Wisdom Key, a peacock aura quartz artifact set into carved oak

Coherence Artifact

The Wisdom Key

Peacock aura quartz — titanium-coated natural quartz — with an oak base and a carved symbol, finished with an apophyllite point and copper hanging hook. Secret elements are held within the artifact for vibration and coherence.

The Shaman's Trident, an oak branch set with amethyst, citrine, danburite and bloodstone

Coherence Artifact

The Shaman's Trident

An oak trident branch with natural points of amethyst, citrine and danburite at its three corners, and rough bloodstone — green jasper — at its centre. Bound with natural leather and containing secret elements.

The Heart Flame, natural quartz and rose quartz matrix joined to oak with leather

Coherence Artifact

The Heart Flame

Natural oak joined with leather to a natural quartz point carrying an additional formation of tiny rose quartz crystals. Secret elements are held within its construction.

Light of Spirit, a purple sapphire held inside a carved oak root case

Coherence Artifact

Light of Spirit

A slightly translucent, self-healed purple sapphire crystal of approximately forty carats, held inside a carved oak root case with inset gold leaf and bound with cord.

Spirit Craft, a green gem-quality apatite crystal held inside a carved oak root shell

Coherence Artifact

Spirit Craft

A self-healed, gem-quality natural green apatite crystal held inside a hand-carved oak root shell with inset gold leaf.

Magic Finger, tourmaline-bearing quartz joined to oak with solid gold wire

Coherence Artifact

Magic Finger

Natural quartz with black tourmaline rutile at the tip and a red tourmaline flower formation at the opposite end, set on an oak branch with pure solid gold wire and embedded secret elements.

The Shaman's Ring, hand-carved oak set with sapphire, garnet and solid gold wire

Coherence Artifact

The Shaman's Ring

An oak branch hand-carved into a ring, set with a natural sapphire formation and a polished garnet crystal, connected with pure solid gold wire.

The Coherent Heart, a rare self-healed heart-shaped ruby held inside a hand-carved oak root shell

Coherence Artifact

The Coherent Heart

A near gem-quality, rare self-healed natural ruby in the shape of a heart — a formation that makes it extremely rare. Held within a hand-carved oak root shell with inset gold leaf and pure solid gold loops. Thread closes the two halves around the heart-shaped crystal.

Bespoke artifacts

Made for one person

A bespoke artifact begins with the person rather than an existing object. Their intention informs an intuitive process through which the wood, crystal, natural elements, geometry and method of connection are selected. The result is not a standard design with a name added to it, but a completely individual piece.

The practice

Made slowly. Made individually.

Every artifact takes time: to find the materials, understand the relationship between them, construct the geometry and know when the piece is finished. Each completed work is both an object and a record of that process.
